The Institute for Physical Research of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia was founded in 1968 and is a public research organisation. Being one of the leading scientific organizations in Armenia, IPR-NAS currently conducts research in 12 scientific laboratories in various fields of  laser physics and material science. The group of IPR-NAS has considerable experience in synthesis and investigations of metal-carbon nanocomposites. In recent years the group modernized laboratory equipment for solid-phase pyrolysis of metalorganic compounds which allow to obtain carbon coated magnetic metal nanoparticles and binary metal nanocompounds with “core-shell” architecture. Currently the group is engaged in work on synthesis of Fe-based nanoparticles with graphite coating for biomedical applications. The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greek: Aristotelio Panepistimio Thessalonikis) is the largest university and one of the most highly ranked tertiary education institutions in Greece. The AUTH group participating in MaNaCa is MagnaCharta, after Magnetic Nanostructure Characterization: Technology and Applications. Thus, its members focus on modern magnetic nanomaterials such as magnetic nanoparticles, multilayers and thin films. Its interests start from systematic synthesis and robust investigation of physical properties and conclude to technological applicability of nanomagnetism on diverse aspects such as information storage, biomedicine and sustainable growth. To learn more about the AUTH group and their research, please visit their website.

The University of Duisburg-Essen (German: Universität Duisburg – Essen), through its interdisciplinary Center for Nanointegration (CENIDE) www.cenide.de with more than 30 research groups working in nanosciences, is one of the leading centers for nanoparticle research in Germany. The physics department hosts several internationally known experts in magnetism and nanosciences. The UDE group has a long-term experience in the design, control and structural, chemical as well as magnetic analysis of magnetic nanoparticles and complex magnetic nanostructures. Surface and interface effects on magnetic properties have been investigated. Additional expertise in the group includes transmission electron microscopy, x-ray diffractometry as well as synchrotron based element specific analysis of nanosystems. To learn more about the UDE group, please visit their website.

Intelligentsia provides high-quality, knowledge-based consultancy services to support research and innovation in private and public organisations.  They have over 20 years’ experience of managing R&D and innovation projects on behalf of universities, public research organisations and private companies, since the European Commission’s Fourth RTD Framework Programme (1994-1998). During the past 10 years, they have worked on project management, dissemination and “soft-skills” training for 40+ FP7 and H2020 projects. They has worked on over 20 FP7 and H2020 projects with Central and Eastern European research institutes concerning the development of centers of excellence and technology transfer, especially in the fields of physics, materials and ICT (e.g. FP7 CEOSeR, FP7 NANOSENS, FP7 IPERA, H2020 INTELUM, H2020 PHEBE). Notably, they have previously collaborated with the coordinator, IPR-NAS, on several occasions. To learn more about Intelligentsia’s projects, please visit their website.
